Glossary of Terms
Some of the terms you'll hear on
 Prescription Bluegrass:

Bluegrass Fever This is an extremely contagious airborne virus originally discovered in the Appalachian region of the United States. It is now found worldwide.
 Bluegrass Music
  Adds spice to your life.  Allows the user to feel happier, sensations are heightened and moods are elevated.  Removes age boundaries.  Known side-effects: Restless legs, hands and feet; upturned lips; digits and hands shake in rhythmic motion.
Easy-Open Container  A bluegrass CD or cassette without shrink wrapping, or Bluegrass music heard on the radio with the touch of a button.
Family Therapy   This is when one or more members of the same immediate or extended family combine efforts to practice, perform, listen to, participate as spectators or otherwise enjoy Bluegrass music.
Formula 
     
 A specific Bluegrass song performed live, or recorded, designed to ease the discomfort of persons suffering from Bluegrass Fever.
Group Therapy   This is bluegrass music performed or listened to in concert with one or more persons.

Off-Label Use   Formulas and Remedies normally used for the aid and comfort for persons suffering  from other conditions, like Rock & Roll, re-worked to fit a Bluegrass format.
PDR   
 This is the “Picker’s Desk Reference" used primarily by Bluegrass practitioners for reference to specific treatments for various strains of Bluegrass Fever.
Remedy    Much the same as Formula, however it differs in that formulas are copy-written material traceable to the original author.  Remedies are handed down from generation to generation, from one jam-session to another and no one actually knows the origin of the material.  Often Remedies are re-worked to suit a particular style or persuasion and over enough time may not have to much resemblance to the original.
Support Group     Anyone who will listen and understand your specific Bluegrass preferences including friends, family and official organizations like IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) or any other association so formed for the advancement, enjoyment or organization of Bluegrass music, performers, writers or others involved with earning income from Bluegrass music.
Therapy Session    This is a Bluegrass jam-session, pickin’ practice, radio program or use of a personal listening device playing Bluegrass music.
Traffic Report     Description of what is occurring, as it is occurring, during a bluegrass jam-session. Used to avoid musical collisions.
